Ashton Kutcher used to rent this place for $50 000 a month and finally decided to buy it. This beautiful property cost him $10 million. You might think that is a lot of money to spend on a house, but it looks like it might be worth it. It’s located in the Hollywood Hills and the living room has glass walls, which are perfect for overlooking the scenery. This house also features a private movie theater, a private gym, a SPA and an infinity pool. If that’s not impressive enough, this wonderful glass mansion also overlooks a lake and has a clear view of the Hollywood sign. However, Ashton decided to put this perfect bachelor pad for sale while his girlfriend Mila Kunis was pregnant. This house isn’t really child friendly, so they bought a smaller family house. It might not give them as much space, but it guarantees them much more privacy while they raise their kid.
2. Kim and Kanye
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West splurged out $20 million on this house in the Hidden Hills, which is only 5 minutes away from Bruce Jenner’s house. Coincidence? We think not. This house has not one but two spas, an enormous entertainment pavilion and 2 barbeque centers. Why do they need 2 of each? We’ll never know. They also have their own vineyard! They’ve been renovating the interior of the house so who knows what else they might add. However, this is their family house, so they made sure their daughter North West wouldn’t get bored here. They build a huge playground for their little kid in the backyard.
3. Smith’s Compound
This enormous property was custom built for the Smith family. It took 7 years to built this 25000 sq foot mansion and cost them $20 million. This house has a circular floor plan, which is supposed to symbolize Will and Jada’s infinite love. The property also has a private recording studio, a basketball bad, a tennis court and even an artificial lake. The property is so big it has it’s own zipcode. The front door of the Smith Compound once used to serve as an entrance to a fort in India. There’s little artifacts and hand crafted pieces throughout the house. The Smith’s like to decorate their home with things that are brought back from Africa, Middle East and Southwest America. The interior design of the house is very much inspired by Moroccan, Spanish and Persian cultures.
4. Rihanna
Rihanna spent $22 million on this luxury house in Barbados. She rented it before for her family and fell in love with the place. Plus, she decided to spend more time in Barbados with her family. This house has 5 bedrooms, each with their own terrace. Ri-ri’s house is run like a hotel, even when she’s not there. She has a staff of 34 people. The house has a biometric security system, which means the staff doesn’t have to carry any keys or cards that can be stolen. That way, if you’re not in the system, you won’t be able to get it. There’s also private elevators and underground parking. The best thing about this house is a swimming pool that leads onto the beach.
5. Jerry Seinfeld
Jerry has one of the most expensive houses in the world. This house in the Hamptons cost him $32 million, but being the star of the most watched show in the States, he can afford it. The house has luxurious furniture, a swimming pool and even a full sized baseball field, because Jerry is a huge baseball fan. Apart from the main house, there’s also a 3 bedroom guesthouse on the property, where the guests can stay when they visit them. Even though the house itself is insanely expensive, the decor inside is surprisingly casual and friendly. There’s nothing that would shock you. Jerry’s wife said, that when it came to decorating she wanted everything to be fuss-free, so the house is decorated in neutral tones and looks very cosy.
6.Brad and Angelina
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have many properties around the globe, but this one is probably the most impressive. Chateau Miraval is a 1000 acre property in the Provence, France and cost them $60 million. This house has 30 rooms, so that’s more than enough space for their many kids to play around in. The French manor is also surrounded by 926 acres of gardens, vineyards, fountains and olive groves. However, the sheer size of the house is not the most impressive thing about it. This luxury mansion has been built in 1841 and has once been owned by Jacque Loussier, a famous french jazz pianist. He installed a recording studio which attracted a lot of rock starts to record there. That must’ve bumped up the price quite a bit, but this power couple can definitely afford it.
7. Hugh Hefner
The famous Playboy Mansion cost $50 million and has 29 rooms. This place has everything for a party: a wine cellar, a game room, a grotto, tennis courts, a waterfall and a swimming pool, there’s even a zoo. There’s also a separate game house on the property. There’s rumors that it also has secret tunnels that lead to some celebrity houses. Apparently those were installed in the 70s, because back then you couldn’t attend the famous Playboy parties without shattering your reputation. A lot has changed since then. Yes, the house is still full of beautiful models, and amazing parties are still held at the Playboy Mansion, but Hugh Hefner is now much older and prefers a game of tennis over a wild orgy in the grotto.
8.Oprah
Oprah is so famous she goes by her first name. That’s a sure sign someone is insanely rich. Oprah has a huge mansion that cost her $85 million and she keeps it very private. She has a very strict security system that makes sure there’s no paparazzi around her house. The house itself has 14 bathrooms, 10 fireplaces and 6 bedrooms and a private cinema. The interior is extremely luxurious with a lot of antique furniture, paintings and all sorts of expensive decorations. There’s also a lake on the grounds, where Oprah keeps her exotic fish collection. Oprah actually has to remodel her interior design, because despite it being very impressive, it just felt more like a museum than a home.
9. Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods splashed out $60 million on this enormous house on Jupiter Island, Florida. The house has quite a few glass walls, which are perfect for enjoying the view,and wow what a view. The building is situated on a secluded island overlooking the Atlantic ocean. Can you imagine? The view of the sunset must be spectacular. The building also has a glass elevator, for those who are too lazy to take the stairs. The basement of the house has a wine cellar and a game room for his kids. It also has a cinema. Of course, the property wouldn’t be complete without a backyard golf course. We say “backyard golf course” but it’s actually 3,4 acre one, so you know, not your usual backyard.
10.Bill Gates
We left the best for last. The most expensive house is owned by the richest man on earth – Bill Gates. The house is huge and is worth $123 million! He pays around $1 million in property taxes annually. The house has a climate control system that sounds like it’s from a sci-fi movie. Basically you’re given a pin and you enter your ideal temperature and lighting setting and they follow you as you move through the house. The house literally adjusts to your liking! There’s a whole separate building that has a pool and a room with a trampoline that has incredibly high ceilings. In the main house there’s speakers hidden in the walls so you can play music wherever and whenever, you can make music follow you as you move through the house. There’s also a guest house on the premises and it’s as technologically advanced as the main house.
